FREE Way to Give Back to Your Homeless Sisters

I learned about an easy and great way to give back from my friend Angie Pedersen. It takes less than 60 seconds...

You probably never thought of this, but women's shelters in the U.S. go through thousands of feminine hygiene products monthly. Assistance agencies generally help with expenses of "everyday" necessities such as toilet paper, diapers, and clothing, but one of the most BASIC needs is overlooked--feminine hygiene products.Sglogo

Seventh Generation, a green paper products and cleaning products company, has a do-good attitude and will donate a box of sanitary products to a women's shelter in your chosen state--just for clicking the link. Talk about easy (and it's kind of fun to drag and drop the little heart)!

It costs nothing, takes less than 60 seconds, and if you do it, come back and leave a comment. I'll donate one copy of Real Women Scrap to a women's shelter in my area for every 10 comments that I receive by next Sunday, 3/18/07. I had over 100 comments on the Ultimate Blog Party post. Surely we can do better than that! Tell your friends.

Updated to add: As an extra incentive, to the #200 commenter, Sarah Hodsdon, award-winning designer and artist, will make you a mug of your choosing and send it directly to you! Thanks Sarah!

Click here to donate now...no cost to you, just a click of the mouse.

Ok, think about it...how many feminine supplies does a woman's shelter go through in a month??? A lot for sure. Well you can help make sure they get some for free...it just takes a min. and doesn't cost you a [Read More]

I tried to donate... They've been so overwhelmed by the response, they had to shut down the site! I'm glad to know Seventh Generation is such a generous company.

Don't forget that our sisters in the military stationed overseas need these products very badly as well. If you send boxes of goodies to our soldiers, including a few boxes of ladies' toiletries wrapped separately with the note of "For any female service members" would be a really nice thing to do. (Putting it in pink tissue paper would probably be enough to convince the guys not to open it up and play with them, LOL.)

Wow, thanks for sharing this Tasra! I posted about it here: http://jessgordon-lovelythings.blogspot.com/. I hope tons of people see it and it spurs them to action :).

Okay, I don't see my post.... as an extra incentive, to the #200 commenter, I will make you a mug of your choosing and send it to where it needs to go.... http://sarah-n-dipitous.typepad.com/sarahndipitous/2007/03/making_a_differ.html Tasra, you really hit on something VERY important. Thank you so much for posting this- I would have never known about this program if you hadn't....

This is great. I volunteered at a battered women's home in college. So many women move in and out of these homes. They have a huge need.

I clicked! Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know about an easy way to give back to my community and fellow woman.
