FREE Way to Give Back to Your Homeless Sisters
I learned about an easy and great way to give back from my friend Angie Pedersen. It takes less than 60 seconds...
It costs nothing, takes less than 60 seconds, and if you do it, come back and leave a comment. I'll donate one copy of Real Women Scrap to a women's shelter in my area for every 10 comments that I receive by next Sunday, 3/18/07. I had over 100 comments on the Ultimate Blog Party post. Surely we can do better than that! Tell your friends. You probably never thought of this, but women's shelters in the U.S. go through thousands of feminine hygiene products monthly. Assistance agencies generally help with expenses of "everyday" necessities such as toilet paper, diapers, and clothing, but one of the most BASIC needs is overlooked--feminine hygiene products.
Seventh Generation, a green paper products and cleaning products company, has a do-good attitude and will donate a box of sanitary products to a women's shelter in your chosen state--just for clicking the link. Talk about easy (and it's kind of fun to drag and drop the little heart)!
Updated to add: As an extra incentive, to the #200 commenter, Sarah Hodsdon, award-winning designer and artist, will make you a mug of your choosing and send it directly to you! Thanks Sarah!
Click here to donate now...no cost to you, just a click of the mouse.

I tried to donate... They've been so overwhelmed by the response, they had to shut down the site! I'm glad to know Seventh Generation is such a generous company.

Don't forget that our sisters in the military stationed overseas need these products very badly as well. If you send boxes of goodies to our soldiers, including a few boxes of ladies' toiletries wrapped separately with the note of "For any female service members" would be a really nice thing to do. (Putting it in pink tissue paper would probably be enough to convince the guys not to open it up and play with them, LOL.)

This is great. I volunteered at a battered women's home in college. So many women move in and out of these homes. They have a huge need.
