The Comment That Won It All

Last week I announced that one commenter on Episode 15 of Real Women Scrap TV would win a FREE T-shirt. We've got the same contest happening this week too! If you weren't chosen this time, tune in again and leave a comment.

And the winner is....Monica. This was her comment about last week's show.

I bought some 10 cent notebooks for back to school for the kids. I think I will snag one and decorate it with my scrapbook stuff. I will attempt to do this assignment. It sounds great!

Way to go Monica. We can all find those 10 cent notebooks and experiment with them. Congrats! Maybe we'll start doing this every week!

Episode 16: Don't Forget About YOU!

Most of us would consider our lives pretty busy. Whether it's mother's clubs and soccer games, or board meeting and power lunches, we've got stuff to do and never enough time to do it.

Tune in to this week's episode for some inspiration and ideas for how to make time for YOU. There's a challenge at the end and a chance to win a FREE T-shirt. Click the image to watch now!

Got time? If not, you gotta find it, make it, protect it. It's vital, and you know it. Now put it into action by leaving a comment and making a change starting today! Anyone who leaves a comment by next Wednesday at 11:59 PST will be entered in a random drawing for a Real Women Scrap T-shirt.

The Day Has Finally Come

Bike3 It's time to TRI!

My big day for the triathlon has finally arrived. Everything is packed and I'm on my way to the event. If you're reading this Sunday, August 26, then I may be in the water, riding my bike, or running as you read! Start time is 9 a.m. and we expect to be finished in less than 3 hours.

As most plans go, I didn't get nearly as much training time as I would have liked. With traveling and business, it sometimes got pushed to the side. I even thought seriously about quitting. But I'm not a quitter. So I just revised my goals and decided that I would focus on finishing and having fun. I'm not competing for time or any medals, I just want to finish the race with a smile on my face.

I'll see you on the other side of a completed triathlon. Thanks for your prayers and well-wishes!

Finding Simple Happiness in a Smile

Water_dad_bub_2

There is something so wonderfully healing about a sincere smile and the sound of laughter, especially when they are shared between a father and a son. I'm so thankful for the amazing dad that my husband is to our two children. In a world of fractured families, it's truly a blessing to have a father be present and connected to his kids. Makes me happy. Makes me smile.

How about you? What makes you happy?

Episode 15: See Beyond the Plain to the Possibility

***Updated*** Some people have been experiencing technical difficulties. If you can't view the video below, try this QuickTime Version. Give it a minute to load once you click on it.

This week on Real Women Scrap TV, we've got a special treat for you. As many of you know, last week I had the honor of being the keynote speaker at the San Jose Junior League Leadership Development Meeting. We had an amazing session together training and creating a hands-on project.

Since you couldn't be there in person, we thought we'd bring the lessons to you. Over the next three weeks, we'll be bringing you one new strategy for staying connected to who you are and what you love.

This week: See Beyond the Plain to the Possibility

Thanks for tuning in this week. Make sure to join the fun by doing the activity we talked about in the video. Anyone who participates by leaving a comment on this post by next Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. PST will be entered in a drawing for a FREE Real Women Scrap T-shirt! Get creative.

P.S. If you don't know what chick lit is, here's a quick definition: modern, fun, intelligent fiction for women. They are mainly written by women for women with a personal, light and humorous tone. I love escaping in a good chick lit book. If you need a good laugh, here are three books to get you started...

  1. What a Girl Wants
  2. Too Good To Be True
  3. Sushi for One

Wordless Perspectives from Paris

Paris_2

Paris_vegas

Paris, Las Vegas, that is.

Glad to be home and back to "normal" life. Look forward to catching up on comments, emails, and blog posts. How's your Wednesday?

What Is Your Blog Worth?

My_blog_worth

I remember checking this blog widget out when I first started Lessons from the Scrapbook Page. So when I stumbled upon it again at Mommy Life, I thought I'd see if the dollar value had changed at all.

It has...quite a bit. In fact, according to this, the value of my blog has increased by  nearly $350,000. Look at that dollar amount in the image...if only I could take that to the bank and cash it in!

How about you? What's your blog worth?

Coming Next Week...Real Women Scrap TV

Las_vegas_2You may have noticed that Real Women Scrap TV was pre-empted this week. We had scheduled a live interview with a real woman, but due to scheduling issues, it was delayed. The good news is we'll be back on track next week.

Coming next week...how to create a simple scrapbook space on a small budget. Whether you've got a kitchen table or an entire office, we'll give you some easy and quick ways to design a creative scrapbooking space that is functional and fabulous!
