Enter To Win A Christa Taylor Shopping Spree!

Today, you are in for a treat. I have the honor of interviewing Christa Taylor, a young woman with a style and flair all her own. She's creating fashions for the empowered traditionalist; offering chic, feminine, and modern modest clothing options that are carefully selected to bring you premium quality and a totally modish [chic+modest=modish] flair that allows you to keep up with all the latest trends.
Not only that, but she is giving away $150 SHOPPING SPREE as part of our End of Summer Blog-Abration this month! No purchase is necessary to enter.
Here's how it works...
Visit Christa-Taylor.com and browse through the yummy clothing she has available. Misses and junior sizes are available, so almost anyone can wear these fabulous outfits. I love "The Lucy" featured to the right! It's on MY wishlist. Of course, this contest is for YOU, so wish away.- Create your Personal Wish List. Each individual product page contains an “Add to Wishlist” option. Click this button for each item you choose. If you do not already have an account you will be prompted to sign up for one. It's super fast and easy. I did it tonight in less than 5 minutes.
- Return and leave a comment on this post. When you’re finished wishing you will be provided with a link to your personal wish list. It's near the bottom of the page. Post the link as a comment here on this contest post and you'll be entered in the random drawing for the $150 shopping spree. You can either shop for yourself or for a daughter, granddaughter, niece, or friend. It's up to you.
- Add the Make A Wish Banner to your blog (optional) to let your readers know about this fun event! Get html for the banners and more details here. The winner will be randomly chosen and announced September 1, 2007.
It's that easy. Go ahead and do it now...then come back and read more about the woman behind the fashion. Her vision and passion will inspire you.
How did you get started?
It
all started when I imagined a store committed to modesty that was full
of beautiful, stylish apparel for young women. I was exasperated by the
one option our culture presents: sexy. As a team we began brainstorming
on how to make this dream a reality. Baby step by baby step we designed
and furnished a website, made contacts in the fashion industry for
manufacturers, designers etc. and launched January 15th, 2007.
Wow! So this is all still pretty new. What is your inspiration?
I
derive inspiration from a number of different sources. Some of my
fashion icons such as Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Audrey Hepburn, and
Princess Diana have presented several ideas. Often I get inspiration
from looking at vintage patterns from the 50s and 60s or from something
on the runway (altered for modesty’s sake of course). I get ideas from
everything really; you just keep your “antennas” up and concepts spring
at you.
I absolutely agree...creativity is
everywhere. And I love Audrey Hepburn too. What a classy and elegant
woman. What’s your favorite part of creating a clothing line?
My
favorite part of creating a clothing line begins and ends with seeing
the outfits come together. Having great individual pieces is great, but
when you have that perfect combination of top, bottom and accessories I
feel a “chu-ching!” moment. Second favorite is seeing the clothes get
shot on camera…the models do a terrific job and it’s amazing to watch.
Those moments are amazing. I'd love to know how your company has changed you and/or impacted others?
I
have been stretched and challenged in numerous ways, more than I ever
thought I would be. Our company is positively impacting more than just
our happy customers. 30% of all our profits go directly towards the
needs of the poor and towards social justice throughout the world. Our
first project is the monthly support of an orphanage in Ta Lam,
Cambodia. I’ve been to Cambodia personally and visited “our” orphanage.
Our business is making an enduring impact across the world.
Talented, Inspired, and Altruistic...what a great combination. Anything else you’d like to share?
Please
pray for me. This is not an easy task and it is accompanied by a fair
amount of disappointment, frustration and general stress. The title
“designer” can really be romanticized, but in all reality it’s quite
challenging. It’s my joy to serve our customers and there are many
“soaring” moments, but it does involve sacrifice to get there.
Thanks for stopping by to share your life and fashion with us Christa. I'm truly inspired and encouraged by your vision and passion. Keep pursuing your dreams. I just know that you have great things in store for you!

I like the fact that modest clothes can be found. I don't mind the sexy clothes, but I just want more options than what I see in the stores.
