The Big Apple

Apple_logo Okay, I'm late again, but I really do have a good excuse reason. Here's the scoop. Last week I posted the silver Apple logo and asked everyone to guess the significance. I loved all of your answers and at least one person guessed it right.

The "real" significance of the logo is that I am now working full-time at Apple Inc. at their corporate headquarters. How cool is that? I've been there since the beginning of December and I can honestly say that every day just gets better. Cool people. Creative teams. Fantastic products.

It is a huge transition for me to go from independent business coach, speaker, and author to corporate America, but if you gotta go, Apple is the way to do it! Truly my position was tailor-made for my skills and experience. I feel tremendously blessed to be where I am right now.

So what does that mean for the future? Well, Real Women Scrap isn't going anywhere. My books are still available online and in bookstores. Real Women Scrap Packs are available at local scrapbook stores and online. Stay tuned for a huge sale coming up this weekend, just in time for the holidays! Real Women Scrap TV will continue through Season 2.

What will change? Blog postings and speaking engagements will obviously not be as frequent. Other than that, I'm going to take the last two weeks of 2007 to figure the rest out. I always think it's good to take a step back, re-evaluate your path, and chart your future course. So that's what I'm going to do. When we return in January, I'll have a clear vision about the next steps for all the dreams and wishes I've got running around in my head and heart.

Now is a good time for you to think about that too! Take a day or half day if you can and just get away to think, plan, dream and prepare. Analyze the past year. Reflect on what went well, what could have been handled differently, and successes that you had. Envision 2008 and what you'd like to see happen, attitudes you'd like to see changed, and challenges you'd like to overcome.

Most people don't ever take time to think about or write down their goals. Be different. Stand apart from the rest. Think about your goals and make the time to write them down (or type them up). Then, put them in front of you. Make a small version to put in your wallet. If you do, you'll be surprised at how your brain gets on board to help you achieve what you're thinking and dreaming about. Give it a try. It works for me!

So, now you know my story. Thanks for playing along with my guessing game last week. The winner of the drawing is Jennifer. Congratulations Jennifer. You win a Real Women Scrap T-shirt, book, and button.

Happy Holidays!

Episode 27: The Original Scrap Box

What I Want For Christmas!

Excuse all the noise in the background of this week's episode. We filmed this literally as Memory Trends was being torn down around us. I thought this would be a quick and fun show before the holidays. To find out more about this incredible storage solution, visit ScrapBox USA.

We'll be on holiday break for the next couple of weeks, so look for new episodes after the new year, including a great two-part episode with Lisa Bearnson, and a multi-part episode with four great designers, including Kelli Crowe. You won't want to miss them!

Episode 26: Interview with Rebeca Seitz

Most of you know of my friendship with author Rebeca Seitz. We've had media appearances together, and she helped us out at our Memory Trends booth this past September. While there, I had the opportunity to sit down with her and chat about her new book, Sisters Ink. We also got to talk about where she finds time to read, and the great website resource to help local scrapbookers connect. Enjoy!

Leave a comment below and I'll enter you in a drawing to win a free copy of Rebeca's book.
