Camy Tang, author of the Sushi Series tagged me with some fun questions about readers and writers so I thought I'd play along.
What's the one book or writing project you haven't written but still hope to?
I still really want to write a fiction series with scrapbooking as an element in the story. I don't want it to be the whole story, but a part of it. It would be fun to take some of the real women's stories in Real Women Scrap and fictionalize them. I've started the fiction a few times, but haven't made the time to really plug away at it like a novel requires. I do have a first chapter done though...maybe I'll post it sometime!
If you had one entire day in which to do nothing but read, what book would you start with?
The Audrey Hepburn Treasures
. I asked for and received this beautiful big book of Audrey for Christmas and have been meaning to read it for seven months now. It's still in the clear plastic wrap. If I had an entire day to read, I would crack that open first. I would definitely like to learn more from her about style, class, and grace. She had it down!
What was your first writing "instrument" (besides pen and paper)?
I guess it was my iMac laptop that I got off ebay four years ago. It was my first laptop and my first ebay purchase. Unfortunately, it has a very strange smell to it now that makes it completely unusable. I would love to get a new laptop but can't justify the cost yet. Maybe the laptop fairy will drop one on my doorstep...or make the yucky smell on my current one disappear.
What's your best guess as to how many books you read in a month?
Wow, wish I kept better track of this, but I'd say in a good month I probably read 7 or so books. That would be a combination of fiction and non-fiction. Generally when I read fiction, I'm done in 2 days. For non-fiction, I spread out my reading over time and often don't finish the entire book. Once I get the message, I move on to the next one.
What's your favorite writing "machine" you've ever owned?
I don't have a favorite. I've never really had a "machine" that was ideal. If I could choose an ideal, I think it would be a new Mac laptop with all the bells and whistles, quick speed, wireless internet, lots of storage, big screen...all the things that would make my life as a writer easy, mobile, and user friendly.
Think historical fiction: what's your favorite time period in which to read?
Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres to read. How can I possibly pick one favorite time period? There are so many...
